My friend James and I as The Ambiguously Gay Duo for Halloween '07. I'm on the left.

Hello, dear readers. This page will tell you a little bit about yours truly.

WHO ARE YOU?

My name is Daniel Casey and I am nineteen years old. I’m currently a junior double-majoring in International Relations & Japanese at Tufts University. I’ll be spending the fall of 2008 in Kyoto, Japan, hence the travel blog. The air is pretty thin up here in the blogosphere, so I’ll try to keep my posts nice and crisp, like a breath of fresh internets.

ANYTHING ELSE?

Keep your eyes peeled for sketch comedy, rad mixtapes, and totally bangin’ pictures.

Hello. I am a SAG (Screen Actor’s Guild) actor and independent film maker. I really enjoy your photography and blog. I’ve spent a number of years in Japan and loved Kyoto. Well, I’m writing to you because I would like to get permission to use one of the images of your keitai (found on FLICKR) in an short student film I’m producing. Again, this film isn’t for profit, it is just an independent student film. If you’ll agree, could you send me an email message stating it’s ok? You can send the message to: director@protopod.com. If you disagree, you could send the message to me also and I’ll use some old stock photos. Thank you.

    James

A Gaijin Primer:

In Japan, when eating grapes, one does not eat the skin. Rather, you suck out the innards and deposit your refuse in the appropriate receptacle.

Ex: ”ええ?顔を食べた?野蛮人!”
"What? You eat the skin [lit. "face"]? Barbarian!"
